So every day in recent memory that I have had a day off has been pretty crappy outside. Today was no different. It stormed all night last night and into the morning. Around noon, the rain finally broke, and I was able to go out take some shots of my mother's garden just after the rain fell. I have some new photos that were posted that feature a lot of water droplets. Hope you guys enjoy.

So my mother has been telling me for a while now that she has seen a giant mantis around the house. I tend not to believe her when she says things like this because she tends to over embelish about things like this. So much to my surprise, I nearly squashed this guy with my hand as came up the porch steps where he was sitting on the railing yesterday.

Now, beyond the amazement of this thing not being a myth, it was HUGE. This thing was just sitting there waiting to have puctures taken of it. So ran up to get my gear and started taking shots just out of the reach of it out stretched claws. I thought this was really cool.

I started to think that I haven't shot anything for a little while, so I took my gear outside to take some shots, As I was reviewing the shots I had taken, I caught him again out of the corner of my eye. This time, he was having lunch, a bug in each hand. I just find it funny how I've lived here for three years and never seen this ting, and now he is hamming it up for the camera.

So after the last dump of fireworks photos, I finally sprang for a new macro lens that I've been threatening to buy for the last year or so. You'll probably start seeing more things coming from me here in the near future.

It's actually been pretty nice around this area lately. So I've taken up my camera and started shooting more than normal. You'll probably see me putting up stuff more frequently. You all know my style. Macros, Flowers, Nature, and all that jazz. Let me know if you want to see anything specifically.

I just thought that I would share some of the funnier/more interesting things said with in my earshot about the apocalypse and the lack of an apocalypse.

"Look at what this person ordered. I hope there is an apocalypse so they will die an agonizing death."

"How stupid are we all gonna feel if there is an apocalypse? We've known about it for years, and have had all this time to prep, and what did we do, make fun of it incessisently."

"I feel bad for the sheltered southern vacationer who believes in the mayan calendar. They would be losing their mind over the snow."

"I'm disappointed, this was the most pathetic attempt at apocalypse that I've seen since Y2K."

"I really wanted to see that winged snake take flight, you know, before it immolated everyone."
